Rabbits were known to be herbivores, yet in fact, they actually eat meat occasionally as a supplement for protein, 

recent researches have shown that various hares might have been eating meat prolongedly. 

In a well-known legend of China, there was once a rabbit living on the moon pounding and grinding medicines with a mortar, 

after the fairy Chang’e’s arrival, the rabbit accompanied her happily ever after, becoming a mythical figure known to purge pandemics.
