The Dorcus titanus sika is one the most common-found stag beetle in Taiwan, 

alongside with the Odontolabis siva. It is well known due to its rather flat body figure compared to the others. 

This insect is holometabolous, male adults could grow up to 73 millimeters, 

female adults range up to 41 millimeters, their body figures are medium-scaled.

台灣扁鍬形蟲是台灣最常見的鍬形蟲之一，因身體比其他鍬形蟲扁平而得名，屬於完全變態，

雄成蟲體長約0～73公釐，雌成蟲體長則約0～41公釐，中廣身材，

與鬼艷鍬形蟲同屬台灣常見大型鍬形蟲。

作品擷取大顎並夾取天然珍珠，類於野外吸取樹脂之型態，充滿生命能量。
